Another year has passed and Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony all continue their slow, steady battles for gaming and entertainment domination and this year, the big news is motion-controlled gaming but while Nintendo has been doing it for years with its Wii, both Sony and Microsoft with its upcoming xbox 360 kinect release date have released add-ons for their consoles that let you forgo traditional game controllers and use your body’s motion to control the games you play. It is time to compare the different systems.If you opt for the PS3 you will be able to do more than play games it is also a very good DVD player as well . Considering its $299.99 price tag for, it is a tempting package even before you get into the games. While the PlayStation 3 floundered a bit in its early days, it now has a large library of game titles available. With the exception of some system exclusives, every major title for the Xbox 360 is available for the PS3 and vice versa. Many of the old games that people have grown up with are being reintroduced using the new technology that is available. For motion control, the Playstation Move offers a Wii-like wand-based interface. It uses the PlayStation Eye camera accessory and a sensor-filled controller to track movement. Many people have said that they find the action that Sony provides to be more realistic than other older systems. While it lacks Blu-ray Disc playback and Hulu Plus, Microsoft’s console is just as formidable a gaming platform and almost as handy an entertainment system as the PS3 and the xbox 360 kinect also features Netflix, and is a handy DVD player if you’re not quite ready to bump up to high-definition optical media. Microsoft’s version includes a lot of different games including several that can only be played on its platform. The Xbox 360’s motion control system goes beyond Playstation Move and the Wii. Nintendo and the Playstation depend on remote controls. For the xbox, no remotes are used. It measures where you are in the room, maps out your movements, and lets you dance, fight, jump, and run without touching a single piece of plastic but like the Playstation Move, Kinect, and due to the fact the xbox 360 kinect release date has just passed, it doesn’t have many titles out now, but the radical new control scheme is just begging for creative developers come up with innovative titles. There are many differences between console gaming systems that make it hard for first time buyers to find the one that would work for them and with the upcoming xbox 360 kinect release date now might be the time for a person to learn what the differences between the platforms really is and how it affects their search for the right platform. The first and foremost choice is what type of games you want for your system. Because if you want to get your young kids a system you probably will get them a Play Station 3 or Wii, do to the child friendly content available so you need to find out the primary user and what level of games they are allowed to play and realize that the many xbox 360 kinect games that are not sports games will have a high T for teen rating through M for mature rating. Those types of games should not be played by kids under 13. Young children could be exposed to ideas that they are not ready to deal with. The Play Station 3 has a mixture of games going from E for Everyone to M for mature. People who use this platform do not want everything to be too graphic but can provide a family with a good mix o the game types. It is important for parents to sit down and talk with their kids about how they feel about the blood, gore, and language in some of these games. An adult should not buy any games without first doing some research on what type of content will be involved. Nintendo’s platform is made for more family oriented gaming These games are played at an easier and less mature level. For experienced gamers the titles that are available could be oversimplified.There is some things that you can do to limit what a child sees. An adult can keep a person from viewing some games based on the manufacturers ratings that come with the game. They are not completely effective at blocking unwanted content. Sony has developed software that is far more effective. Parents can set a system parental control password that allows for them to choose, what level of games can be played on the system. Nintendo’s system is similar to Microsofts and does not prove to be very effective. It is again for little kids who have probably never heard of an M rated game, and the system doesn’t have M rated games available for online download. The next thing to narrow down is what quality of graphics you want to get from the system in game play. The Xbox has Hi def in all of its games and it looks good to. Nintendo’s system is not known for this part of the game play. They are not always very realistic or fast. Another issues that is faced with this platform is that it will stop working suddenly and a person will have to turn the power off to fix it. The best graphics experience has to be the Play Station 3 though. It has new revolutionary technology of Blue Ray giving it that little edge over the X-box making it the best system.The final thing to consider is the cost of the platforms and although they are not too far apart with the new xbox360 kinect price and the sales that are being promoted to spur sales of the older systems a person does have some control in the budget for gaming.
