Two Wonderful Cities Right Outside The Capitol Of California And Why They Are So Nice

The capital of California is Sacramento and there are many wonderful cities to live in outside of the Sacramento area. Two of the cities that are great places to reside are named Roseville and Rancho Cordova. This article will explore the various things that these two places have to offer and why they are nice places to live, other than being located in beautiful northern California. The first city, Roseville has a population of a little over 100,000 residents but is growing steadily expecting it to have almost 134,000 by the time 2015. The area of Roseville is over 30 square miles large and has many gorgeous streams that go through the city and are called Dry Creek, Linda Creek, Secret Ravine and Cirby Creek. This city has beautiful and lush vegetation that is so common in Northern California with the cooler climate and additional rainfall that falls there. Most of the rain happens in the cooler winters and the summer are typically hot and dry in Roseville. CNN’s, “Money,” magazine ranked Roseville as one of the Best Places to live in 2006. Another ranking showed this city to be the thinnest place in the nation with a body mass index of only 24.5. This may explain why there are a large amount of professional and Olympic athletes that hail from Roseville.

Roseville has a strong economy in it with a lot of retail businesses in it. It is the location of one of the biggest Auto malls in the country that assists the local community as well as being known for a great deal of shopping opportunities. This city ranked as having the 11th highest retail sales in the entire state of California last year with its wide variety of shopping choices. It has a great a regional shopping destination where shoppers traveling great distances to go there. The most popular destination is the Westfield Galleria which is continuing to grow and directly across from that is another retail destination named the Fountains. They are hoping as soon as the economy gets better, so will things in this great city of Roseville.

There are many other big employers in Roseville like Hewlett-Packard, Kaiser Permanente, Union Pacific Railroad, and Sutter Roseville Medical Center employing thousands of people. In 1988 Roseville made the move to undergo a revitalization of the downtown area fixing a lot of the historic buildings that were falling apart.

Rancho Cordova is a new community that was incorporated in 2003 and already has a population of 60,000 residents. It was named after the Cordova Vineyards that were located there. It has a diverse mixture of residents and many famous major league baseball players also, hailed from Rancho Cordova such as Chris Bosio and Max Venable. Another well known resident is Lester Holt on the Today Show.
