Stretch Marks: Why They Appear And What To Do

The reddish lines that appear on your belly, if you didn’t know are stretch marks. These skin conditions can embarrass you to take your shirt off while on the beach or even in front of your hubby. Stretch marks that appear on the stomach occur as a result of great weight gain and loss, often due to pregnancy. Pregnancy stretch marks can leave ugly, reddish purple marks covering your hips and breasts, but are particularly inclined to mark your belly.

Ugly Stretch Marks & Their Causes

Stretch marks appear when the skin is pulled beyond its ability to stretch, resulting in tiny tears. Upon healing, these tears are replaced with scar tissue. These rippled and discolored scars are what we know as striae, or stretch marks. This scar tissue contains less pigment than surrounding skin, so when you go sunbathing, those patches will remain paler than tanned skin. Striae often begin as red, angry ripples, which slowly turn into silvery white ripples as the years go by.

The skin is the longest organ in the body; however this remarkable organ happens to be the complex as well. Collagen and elastin, two proteins that give skin its binding nature and elasticity, allow the skin to stretch to extremes. Stomach stretch marks occur when our bodies lack the required amounts of collagen and elastin. In order to prevent stretch marks, it is helpful to rub a high quality cream that contains elastin and collagen regenerative stimulators. By applying these triggers to your skin, two times a day you can help your skin’s recovery.

This is not done with a cream that contains bovin collagen or elastin, ingredients that only achieve a temporarily moist attraction to your skin. This is done by applying a cream that contains elements similar to those found in our own bodies. You can also use a cream that triggers the replacement of flawed skin cells and the production of new collagen and elastin to repair striae that have already appeared.

There are some creams that contain natural activators like those of your body’s own regenerative processes to prevent and erase stretch marks. These creams stimulate and control an orderly production of collagen, elastin and GAGs and the replacement of flawed skin with new skin cells.

Applying these creams daily, twice a day for a period of time (depending how serious your skin condition is) help treat flawed cells, gently fades skin lesions, shrinks and even erases all signs of stretch marks. It also kills pathogens and triggers the synthesis of normal collagen, improving elasticity.
