Now you would be wondering how one can eat salt in excess?! When one thinks of salt intake, all he or she is reminded of is the pinch of salt, which they add to the food, while cooking. But do you know that three quarters of the salt, that we consume, is already available in the food that we buy.

So the pinch of salt just comes up to a quarter amount of the total percentage of salt we consume. Now here are four reasons for why you should avoid salt.

Too much salt in the body will make the blood pressure rise. People with high blood pressure are capable of getting heart stroke or developing heart disease three times more than the people with normal blood pressure. Try to add less salt while cooking.
