In a way, ab machines are quite effective since they really exercise abdominal muscles both ways providing them with sufficient resistance. Ab machines are also very convenient to use since they protect neck and back. Beginner will most certainly like ab machines. But are they that effective? The answer is “no”. One should understand that abdominal muscles of a fitness instructor is something which is achieved during several years. Moreover, these people do not eat everything they want. At that they devote several hours a day to sport. Do not let yourself fool.

If you really decided to start exercising you should remember basic things:

1. In order to develop good abdominal muscles only abdominal exercises are not enough. It sounds weird but if you want to have great abs you should train your chest, legs and shoulders. Such exercises will boost metabolism in your body which in its turn will help burn fat.

3. Keep to a diet. If you will eat much and consumer many calories you will do all your exercises in vain. Besides, if you eat less food your stomach will decrease in size.

4. Do not expect fast results. You have start exercising a month ago but when you look at yourself in the mirror you do not see any changes? Do not worry. Give your body the time to change. Of course, it depends on your body structure but usually it takes several months before you can see any effects.

5. Do not do the same one exercise. Combine you exercises to train different abdominal muscles. Perform exercises for lower, middle and upper abs. it is the most difficult to develop lower abdominal muscles.

6. Leg and knee raises are the best exercises to have great looking abdominal muscles. Some people who can do up to 60 crunches sometimes barely finish 10 leg raises hanging on a bar.

Abdominal fitness can be enjoyable if you follow all directions and perform correct exercises that will help you make your body look great.
