Fitness Motivation – But I Don’t Wanna Exercise Today!

Do you ever have days where you just don’t feel like exercising? I have to admit there have been weeks or even months where I’ve fallen into that very trap. Here are a few things to think about when you feel your fitness motivation slipping (or find that it’s non-existent):

1. One of the best ways to get motivated is to just get started. That’s right – you won’t feel like it, you won’t want to, but just get going anyway. You’ll find that after you get some activity in you’ll feel better. And, if you’re anything like me, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do something sooner.

2. Keep in mind that it doesn’t take much to get things going… simply going outside and taking a walk might be enough to bust you out of your rut. Start small and build from there. Everyone needs a starting point.

3. Get a vision going of how you’ll feel and look once you reach your fitness goals. Whether having more energy, losing weight or getting rid of aches and pains motivates you, think about it daily.

4. Most of all, don’t give up. It ain’t over ’til you say it’s over…

Once you get back into the swing of things, keep your fitness motivation soaring high by remembering how getting in some activity every day makes you feel. Before you know it you will build momentum and start to see healthy progress toward your fitness goals.
