Diabetes is regarded as a metabolism disorder. The body needs energy from food that we eat. The food is broken down into glucose the industry form of sugar in the blood. Glucose makes it ways to the bloodstream. It cannot enter our cells though within the absences of insulin.

Insulin may be the hormone produced by the pancreas. After you eat your meal, pancreas automatically release the required insulin to move the glucose into the bloodstream at the same time lowering the blood sugar levels level. If you have diabetes, the amount of glucose is too high. The reason why would be: body is not producing enough insulin, it produces nothing at all or the cells aren’t responding to the insulin that was produced.

Whichever is the reason, glucose build up in the blood and eventually distribute of the urine. Although a lot of glucose is present but the cells of the body aren’t getting it for the growth and the energy requirements. Causes of Diabetes are not really known but here are some of the factors that may eventually lead to diabetes:

Heredity plays an important role in developing diabetes. About 25% are prone to develop when it runs in the family for several years. Maintaining the amount of the glucose while the mother is still pregnant should be considered so that diabetes won’t be passed on to the child.

Controlling or monitoring your diet helps prevent having diabetes. Never consume food with too much fats, carbohydrates and proteins. They say too much of everything is not good for the body. This is why your body needs a balanced diet to prevent ill effects of obesity. Obesity is the most common factor since everyone has a problem dieting.

Too much fat in the body affects the normal functioning of insulin in the body. Insulin supposes to be allowed sugar contained in the bloodstream to move into the tissues and muscle cells. Due to the increase in fats, tissues and muscle becomes resistant against insulin resulting to diabetes.

Age is yet another factor. As you grow old, you have a greater chance of developing diabetes. Person only at that age becomes less active will put on weight and later pancreas will no longer function well. But today age is no longer an issue because even children of any age develop diabetes for other reason.

Emotional stress as well as people smoking also causes diabetes. Anybody who is a candidate of higher glucose content in the body needs to consider all these factors. It would be to your advantage if everyone lives well. Take a look at http://causesofdiabetes.org/ for great details.
