How I Got Rid Of My Gut

I’m 45 years old and feel every bit of it most of the time. My spouse and kids are the most important things in my life. {I’ve been heavy all my life.~I have struggled with weight issues most of my life.~For as long as I can remember, I have been overweight When When I was younger I was always considered stocky , but not fat. Then one day I wake up and I’m 163 lbs heavier than when I got out of high school. I don’t recall exactly when I gained all of the extra pounds. Whether it was a job change or relationship change, for some reason I added weight. I have read the message boards at the biggest loser weight loss forum and seen this story repeated by many different people, most of us don’t know how and why we get into the shape that we do.
I was watching television and was inspired by the contestants on the Biggest Loser to do something about my life. I realized that I could make the effort that was needed to lose the weight. I consider myself a doer and feel I have the resolve to meet goals that I set. My wife is also heavy. By teaming up, we decided that know was the time to fix the problem. We knew that it was going to take more than a six pack ab exercise program, but we weren’t sure exactly what we were going to do until we started to talk to some of the people at the church that we attended and found out they had the same desire to lose weight that we did. So we formed a weight loss group and began our journey.
One thing I quickly learned was that the pressure of weighing in every week was very motivating. I felt a need to not be last in weight loss every week. I even strove to be the big loser every week. Because of my nature, I prefer winning and felt that it was something that I could do.
Shortly after we started the Monday night program, my wife sought out some information about how to lose weight on the internet at sites such as http://www.fatlossfactor.com, and she was able to develop a diet and exercise program that we could follow. I started using the workout routines in my garage. When I began my routine I was only able to do about twenty minutes at a time. Doing more than I could handle could cause injury to myself, and that would not help me lose weight.
Our family began eating very differently. I was never told about how important every meal could be and was prone to skipping meals often. I learned from our research that I should eat smaller meals more often, so that’s what we did.
When I first stated my exercise routine I was able to exercise every other day during the week. Each one was about a half an hour. My caloric intake was set around two thousand per day and I worked too stick by that. At our first meeting I did not know what to expect. I could tell I’d lost some weight, but I didn’t know how much. I finally had my moment of truth that evening when it was my time to step on the scales. The result was a double digit weight loss, almost eleven pounds. Nothing could hide my jubilation.
Every week after that I posted a 3 to 7 lb weight loss. My weight loss was tied to the amount of time I spent working out. My biggest successes came when I was able to exercise more on a regular basis.
I really didn’t think I would notice much change. Eventually, my clothes did not feels so tight. My level of pep was rising quickly as I worked out. I was amazed at how just a little working out improved my energy levels. Some of the health issues I dealt with were subsiding. I was not down to my goal weight yet and neither was my wife. We were succeeding. I might not be surrounded by millions of viewers, but I feel like I am still a champion.
